Project Manager – Hospitality Construction

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee hospitality renovation projects at the JW Marriott Nashville, a luxury, Marriott-branded hotel. This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented construction professional with proven experience managing projects in occupied, luxury hospitality environments where quality, schedule, cleanliness, and guest experience are critical.

The Project Manager will serve as the on-site owner’s representative, working closely with hotel management, the General Contractor, other contractors and vendors that are hired directly by the Owner, and senior leadership teams based in Miami. This role is 100% site-based and demands proactive leadership, excellent communication skills, independent decision-making, and the ability to effectively manage work in a fully operational hotel setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-site Project Manager and supervisor, ensuring all work progresses according to schedule, quality standards, and safety requirements
• Maintain the luxury quality level expected at a JW Marriott property
• Act as the primary daily point of contact for:
  • Hotel Management
  • General Contractor
  • Other contractors and vendors hired directly by the Owner
  • Senior Project Manager and Executive Team (Miami-based)
• Coordinate and monitor contractor activities to ensure:
  • Clear communication
  • Proper sequencing of work
  • Compliance with hotel operating hours and guest impact requirements
  • Work meets Owner’s quality standards
  • Project budget and schedule is maintained
• Work closely with the construction and property operations teams to ensure:
  • Work areas are clean, organized, and guest-ready prior to guest access
  • Minimal disruption to hotel operations
• Review completed and in-progress work daily and:
  • Identify deficiencies
  • Communicate required corrections to the project team
  • Track resolution to completion
• Assist with bidding, hiring, scheduling and coordination of any contractors or vendors that will be hired directly by the Owner
• Support site visits by Miami-based leadership and hotel management
• Provide regular updates on progress, issues, and upcoming activities
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, hotel protocols, and brand expectations

Qualifications & Experience

• 7–10 years of construction project management experience
• Proven experience managing hospitality, hotel, or luxury interior renovation projects
• Strong experience working in occupied buildings with active guests
• Excellent understanding of:
  • Construction sequencing
  • Subcontractor coordination
  • Schedule management
  • Quality control
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interface professionally with:
  • Hotel leadership
  • Contractors and trades
  • Executive-level stakeholders
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
• Comfortable working independently on-site while coordinating with remote leadership teams
• Ability to manage fast-paced work with limited shutdown windows

Preferred Experience

• Experience working on Marriott-branded or comparable luxury hospitality projects
• Restaurant renovation experience within operating hotels
• Familiarity with owner-direct contracting environments
• Experience working in the field with General and Subcontractors.
