Position Description: Project Manager — New Construction 

Business Unit: Corporate 

Schedule: May vary but typically office hours Monday-Friday Travel: Requires 25-50% 

Position Type: Full-Time 

Job Description: Accountable for planning, directing, budgeting and sales activities related to New Construction Tower jobs, owning and driving this department's gross sales and job profitability goals. 

Requirements

Project Management:

  • Manage customer interface on New Construction projects, including bid, parts ordering & tracking, scheduling work, overseeing work, and closeouts. 
  • Communicate project needs to personnel and schedule manpower and start date to ensure the project stays on schedule and meets deadlines. 
  • Provide personnel with a copy of engineered plan, scope of work and other pertinent information necessary to complete each job. 
  • Pick up customer provided materials from their warehouse or materials from our vendors as needed. 
  • Assist personnel to load and unload job vehicles as needed to speed transition between jobs. Help keep shop organized. 
  • Oversee progress of projects daily and provide daily or weekly updates to customer construction managers as required while owning issue resolution throughout the lifespan of the project and warranty period.
  • Ensure all Company safety, quality and HR policies are communicated and followed.
  • Track change orders if job deviates from bid scope of work and/or plan.
  • Communicate punch list items to personnel and complete all punch items as detailed by client.
  • Compile turnover documents and provide turnover package to clients as required.
  • Track expenses by job when ordering materials or paying for materials and services in the field.
  • Invoice customer per PO as job progresses and at completion.
  • Keep track of stocked inventory levels to prevent material shortages.
  • Participate in site walks with clients and resolve all construction questions with construction managers as needed.
  • Quality control and audits on all jobs
  • Complete all required work within Sage, CRM tool, and all other data locations as needed. 
  • Track all costs on jobs vs budget. 
  • Oversee training & certification needs for all products.
  • Work closely with Product manufacturers for support

New Construction Sales:

  • Research new products, determining what suits our company.
  • Work closely with sales — determining prospective customers / markets.
  • Oversee who attends sales calls, to be subject matter expert.
  • Grow the business by finding and contacting prospective clients to promote the Company's capabilities while maintaining relationships with current customers. 

Requirements: Employees will need to be able to perform the following:

  • Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products 
  • Ability to provide courteous customer service to both internal and external customers. 

Educational Development and Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, or equivalent experience 

Physical, Mental, and Visual Effort:

  • Continuous speaking, hearing and visual effort.
  • Requires standing, walking, and lifting frequently.
  • Continuous mental and visual concentration requiring attention to detail and accuracy.
