Reporting to the Director of Public Housing - New Builds, the Construction Site Inspector is accountable to carry out the necessary inspections required for monitoring the construction items on multiple projects as indicated in the project documents, plans and specifications. This role also monitors the compliance to Provincial and Federal acts and regulations with respect to Health and Safety and Environment.
The Construction Site Inspector will be responsible to liaise with Build Nova Scotia (BNS) representatives and its consultants and shall report on site activities based on objectives determined by BNS and its consultants.
The Construction Site Inspector must develop relationships with, trades, contractors, consultants and other government departments, Nova Scotia Provincial Housing Agency, and crown corporations, while supporting operational requirements and program objectives, with a long-term vision for project success. This is a term position.

Pay Grade: NSL-12
Salary Range: $2850.33 - $3919.20 Bi-Weekly if working FTE hours
Hourly Range: $40.71 - $55.98 if working casual part-time hours
Salary Placement: The placement of a new hire into the salary range is based on an objective salary rating process. This process will assess the knowledge, skills and overall qualifications of a candidate along with internal equity to determine appropriate compensation placement. Each pay grade has established steps, and new hires cannot exceed certain maximums which are outlined in the Compensation Framework. The final compensation for this position will be determined based on these factors.
