Job Summary:

 

We are seeking a Construction Project Manager with an architectural focus to lead and manage projects during the construction phase. This role serves as a critical bridge between design and construction—ensuring that projects are executed in alignment with design intent, contract documents, and quality standards.


The ideal candidate brings experience interpreting architectural drawings, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and proactively resolving field issues. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of project execution while collaborating closely with internal design teams, owners, and contractors.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead construction-phase services across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with contract documents and design intent
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for owners, contractors, and consultants during construction
  • Conduct regular site visits and produce detailed field observation reports identifying progress, deficiencies, and deviations
  • Review and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and substitution requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses
  • Interpret architectural and engineering documents, and provide clear guidance to contractors and project stakeholders
  • Coordinate with internal architecture and engineering teams to resolve field conditions and maintain design integrity
  • Monitor project schedules and progress, proactively identifying risks and recommending solutions
  • Lead or participate in pre-installation meetings and construction progress meetings
  • Oversee and coordinate punch list walkthroughs and project closeout activities
  • Apply working knowledge of building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and low voltage systems
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and coordinate with authorities having jurisdiction when required
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by providing feedback on constructability, materials, and document clarity
Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of construction documents, specifications, and contract administration processes
  • Ability to confidently communicate and coordinate with owners, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions in the field
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software (Bluebeam, PlanGrid, submittal platforms)
  • Working knowledge of Revit and its application in construction coordination


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Construction Science, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in construction administration, architecture, or construction project management
  • Experience working with or within an architecture or design firm is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and field observation


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of the jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • May require travel.
  • Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.
  • Must be on-call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the jobsite.
