Salary Range: $83,900 - $125,000

is an exempt (salaried) position. Pay rates are based on education, skill,

More About the Role:
The position will provide technical assistance to the Storm Water Services Permitting and Compliance Program (P&C) with essential program functions. P&C provides engineering plan review and inspection services of stormwater control measures to meet NPDES permit requirements. P&C also manages the design and construction of stormwater repair projects on minor and major stormwater systems. The candidate may be assisting the program in any of the following areas: - Land development plan review and approval of commercial and residential construction projects for compliance with Federal, State and local requirements - Primary focus on erosion and sediment control, storm drainage, water quality storm water control measures etc for land development projects to assure that the projects comply with local ordinance requirements. - Perform engineering design and construction administration for storm water system repair projects. - Manage the planning, engineering design and construction administration for street improvement projects.
Essential
Skills for the Role:
Ability to navigate Development Ordinance and Post Construction Ordinance in Towns in Mecklenburg County
Ability to analyze technical Storm Water Control Measures and storm drainage conveyance systems
Excellent Communication Skills needed to collaborate between developers, municipal agencies and engineering teams to streamline the permitting/approval process
Direct the comprehensive review of construction plans to ensure certifications designs meet all ordinance and standards for the Towns and Mecklenburg County.
Position Summary
Performs land development plan review for projects in 5
of the Towns of Mecklenburg County.
Essential Functions
Technical Review of land development plans including
stormwater calculations, erosion control calculations, flood study reviews and
land development standards
Provide complete reviews within a
specific timeline
Enforce and applies local ordinances, design specifications,
standards manual, etc. to private and public construction projects to ensure
adequate infrastructure is constructed with minimal impact to the environment.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum of two years of related project management experience or training.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, one of
the natural sciences or a related field.

Licenses and Certifications
Requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License
Requires County Driving Privileges
Annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check required
Depending on area of assignment, may require Registered Landscape Architect
(RLA) license.
Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Engineer In Training (EIT)
