An opportunity has arisen within a leading global law firm’s Construction & Energy practice for a front-end Associate (3 years’ PQE) to join its national team in Sydney.

The successful candidate will work closely with highly regarded partners and gain exposure to complex, high-profile transactions across the construction and energy sectors. The role offers meaningful involvement in day-to-day project management as well as specialised advisory work.

There continues to be significant investment across major infrastructure and energy projects, with work spanning the full project lifecycle from development through to delivery.
The team has deep expertise across:

  • Energy and renewables
  • Transport and public infrastructure
  • Power and water
  • Health and social infrastructure
  • Property and commercial developments
Clients include developers, government bodies, contractors, and engineering and architectural consultants. With a strong global platform, the firm also advises seamlessly on cross-border matters.

The team is known for its collaborative and connected national approach, providing lawyers with early access to mentoring, hands-on experience, and meaningful client exposure.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Approximately 3 years’ PQE in construction law
  • Strong technical, drafting and commercial skills
  • Experience in front-end construction matters, particularly infrastructure and renewables (including wind, solar, and energy storage projects)
  • Exposure to major projects (e.g. PPPs, large-scale developments)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards
  • A proactive approach with the ability to demonstrate initiative
  • The ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
  • An interest in or experience with business development
  • A collaborative mindset and the flexibility to work across jurisdictions
