UON is a Western Australian integrated energy company providing turnkey energy and water solutions to the mining sector and beyond. Due to an extensive upcoming pipeline of works UON is seeking an expression of interest from motivated individuals wishing to join our projects team in the role of Construction Manager and lead our Construction Operations.
To be successful in this role we are looking for someone that is passionate about driving growth, mentoring, coaching and managing teams, focused on the health and wellbeing of our people, and partnering with our Project Management team and Clients to ensure strategic excellence on site.
To be successful in this role:
- Trade qualification and/or experience in building and construction related discipline as required.
- A minimum of 10 years industry experience working in a similar role in Construction industry.
- Schedule 26 Certificate.
- Cert IV in Leadership and Management or equivalent.
- Proven financial, risk, commercial, contractual, and human resource management skills.
- Strong proven qualities of leadership, integrity, loyalty, and performance management.
- Proven performance on successful projects exceeding value of $50M+.
- Ability to demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of WHSE principles.
You will be responsible for: - Demonstrate the highest standards of professional and personal conduct and behaviours when serving the needs of our customers, stakeholders (internal and external) and team members in accordance with UON’s Code of Conduct and Behaviours Guide.
- Maintain oversight over all projects and be a central point of contact for construction issues including but not limited to, constructability, productivity, risk management, resource allocation and safety culture.
- Ensure appropriate operational, functional and management control processes are in place to achieve project objectives for the various projects undertaking within the Projects business unit.
- Monitor current projects and upcoming pipelines of work, and work with site superintendents and project managers to ensure adequate resources are deployed, and recruitment is carried out in line with operational requirements.
- Lead and guide superintendents and supervisors to complete assigned tasks in accordance with the project requirements and company standards and procedures,
- Continually monitor the workload of superintendents and supervisors to ensure most effective use of resources and to determine any changes required in resources to achieve objectives.
- Provide a high-level contact point for clients’ operational representatives.
- Monitor project and company risks and immediately escalate any areas of exposure.
- Ensure company policies and procedures are complied with including but not limited to asset management procedures.
- Identify areas where company procedures are lacking and liaise with the general manager to establish an action plan to rectify.
- Perform regular reviews of project progress, workloads, safety standards, quality workmanship, training needs and provide mentoring to superintendents and supervisors.
- Perform any additional tasks as required from time to time.
