Job Type: Fixed-Term Contract

Salary: Salary and benefits will be negotiated in line with relevant experience and qualifications.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The purpose of this role is to co-ordinate onboarding of contractors, issue permits to work (PTW), oversee the installation or erection of plant and equipment, exiting of the contractors from site as well as being the solution provider for minor capital projects.

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Implement, drive and monitor Zero Harm, practices, systems and processes, in areas of Safety, health and environment.
  • Ownership of the installation of plant and equipment with minimum impact on process and operations within the confines of the RR safety process and procedures.
  • Assists in cost reduction initiatives by reducing waste and improving efficiencies (Costs/ Project Quality).
  • Administration and motivation of projects based on the User Requirements Specifications.
  • Installation of all plant and equipment meets the generally accepted technical standards for the work being done.
  • Manage resource for optimal installation and commissioning of plant and equipment.
Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completed Matric qualification.
  • N3 or equivalent with a recognised Trade test certificate preferably in Boiler making or Fitting or Electrical trade.
  • A National Diploma in or higher in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering would be advantageous.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role would be advantageous.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

  • Intermediate proficiency—Microsoft suite (Excel, Email, Word) and SAP.
  • Manage technical information (manuals, drawings, etc.) where required.
  • Planning and organising skills.
  • Effective communication at all levels.
  • Contractor Management and control.
  • Ability to perform incident and accident investigations.
  • Determine SHEQ incidents for further analysis and action.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • A good understanding of the processes in relating construction, erection and Asset Care / Maintenance of the plant equipment performance and administration.
  • Good knowledge of troubleshooting and fault-finding on equipment.
  • Good knowledge of the permit to work system.
  • Compilation of risk assessments.
