Job Summary:

The Civil Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing civil construction activities between multiple utility-scale renewable projects. This role ensures projects are coordinated with other construction teams, according to schedule, within the civil budgets for each project and in compliance with safety, quality, and contractual requirements. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, the ability to coordinate multiple projects, budgets and stakeholders, as well as strong technical civil construction knowledge, and the ability to calmly operate in fast-paced environments. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan, manage, and oversee civil construction projects including site development, earthwork, utilities, foundations, roads, and drainage 
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost controls 
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, inspectors, and internal teams 
  • Ensure compliance with contract documents, plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements 
  • Lead project kickoff meetings, progress meetings, and stakeholder communications 
  • Monitor project risks, resolve issues, and implement corrective actions as needed 
  • Review and approve submittals, RFIs, change orders, and pay applications 
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company safety standards and OSHA regulations 
  • Track project progress and prepare regular status reports for leadership and clients 
  • Manage execution and completion of Civil Surveys, As-Built drawings, Civil RFI’s, scheduling and completion of required 3 party testing, and all civil submittals. 
  • Coordinate with appropriate onsite FE teams as needed for surveys. 
  • Manage SWPPP inspections, SWPPP Book updates and closeouts, and appropriate remediation measures. 
  • Coordinate with Project PM and Sr. PM to ensure alignment with job execution activities. 
  • Coordinate with Senior PMs to balance Civil execution needs among multiple projects 
  • Other duties as assigned 
Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience) 
  • 5+ years of experience managing civil construction projects 
  • Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and means & methods 
  • Experience with project scheduling and cost management tools (Primavera, MS Project, Procore, etc.) 
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills 
  • Strong understanding of SWPPP, take-offs, permitting, etc. 
  • Experience with Trimble B2W Track 
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with utility scale civil projects 
  • Knowledge of collection systems, crane pad requirements, etc.  
  • Strong background in managing multiple civil projects and teams, Renewables and collection system experience, etc.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

  • Combination of office, remote, and active construction site environments 
  • Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases 
  • Working in all weather conditions 
  • Must be able to lift more than 50 lbs.
  • May require overtime, nights, or weekends based on project needs 
  • Travel up to 90%
